egyptian cuisine.

so this is more of a confession than anything else. before coming to cairo i was super excited about the food, eating out, etc. not that that has changed, but "pharaoh's revenge" makes you take a step back in trying things and acclimating before you get too crazy. that being said, tonight my stomach was churning but i knew i had to eat something. so without further ado, i present to you, my dinner menu:

leftover pasta with chicken
4 mystery flavored chips (AUC put some food in our apartments when we got here but i cannot for the life of me figure out what flavor of lays these are.....it's like ketchup? but more savory? i mean, delicious, just mysterious)
corn flakes dipped in nutella.

yikes. i would be ashamed of this except i'm claiming no responsibility for making bad choices when you have a bad case of traveller's stomach.

i'm having iftar (the meal that breaks the fast during ramadaan) with the president of AUC and some other faculty 3 times this week so i'll try and take some pictures. it's a really cool ceremonial meal with awesome food.

love you lots and stuff. i'll try and be on skype/gchat/ichat for those interested whenever i'm at a computer. hopefully i'll catch you guys! otherwise, we can schedule video gchat or skype dates because that needs to happen, ASAP.

poplar 4 life.

First week as a DC resident.

Hey ladieez.

So exactly one week ago I packed my life into a U-haul and made the drive up to a new home on Wise Street.  I love it, and I cannot wait for you all to see it on girl's weekend...coming up in a couple of months!  In the short time I've been here I've already fallen in love with the city and with being in a new place.  Grace DC is the church Al, Whit, Rachel, and I are going to, and I really like it so far.  I'm loving venturing out on my own- I went to National Portrait Gallery earlier this week- and I'm trying to learn how to get around (I'm SO good with directions....).  Al and I went out in Georgetown last night, and we (obviously) found an amazing dessert place where they have reallll good crepes. 

We split one with peanut butter, Nutella, and chocolate.  We will be going back there to try the other types. 

I had an interview yesterday with a K-8 school in McLean, Virginia that has positions as an after-school counselor with their after-school program.  It's part time, but I think I'd like the job position, so if it's where God wants me to be, hopefully I'll be offered the job. 

It's weird to think that it's almost September!  I love you all lots and stuff....for real.

Wedding Pics...and Moving!

Dear supper clubbers,

I am too emailing yall this but wanted yall to get on and check out the pics from the wedding...I haven't gotten a chance to look through all of them yet, but there are some solid ones! The link is included at the bottom. I move to Baton Rouge tomorrow---wooo hoo! Next time you see me, ill be a ragin' cajun! Please be praying for us as we move in get settled in our 2BR duplex (extra bedroom means we are expecting visitors, seriously!). Also, I don't have a job yet--please please pray for that! Pray for Austin and I as we start our ministry there. I'll try to figure out how to post pics soon and post some of our lil duplex.

First I have to say that I love that show! House Hunters is great! I also like My First Place... but this is besides the point.

I just want to make sure we are on for the last weekend in October. I just sent everyone an email just in case people haven't started checking this bad boy on a regular basis. I mean, it's not like I check it everyday..... :) So maybe I do. Don't judge.

Hope everyone is doing well. O and by the way, I got a place in Seattle! It's a beautiful studio apartment in Belltown. It has a balcony with an awesome view. Woohoo!!! I am so excited.
